Parenting at its best
I wanted to get a picture of Jake in his big brother shirt, but realized the best part if this picture is he's watching his "Cars" DVD on the tv while watching monster truck videos on YouTube on my computer. I'm such a good mother.

One month... already!
Will is one month today! He's in the 95th percentile for height and a
little over 90th for weight. Definitely 100th for adorableness (wink,
wink). Unfortunately his fussiness has gotten progressively worse. I
love his pediatrician though, and at his appointment he was in full-on
fuss mode - I felt bad for him but I was glad she could see it. In a
way I was hoping she'd say he was a normal fussy newborn, but she said
what he's going through is definitely not normal. She spent close to
an hour talking to us and observing Will and although it's hard to
pinpoint what it could be, she thinks it's just an immature digestive
system and not anthing like an allergy to milk. He eats really
aggressively (like his mommy!) and that's probably causing the extreme
gas coupled with the pain of his inability to poop easily on his own
yet. We've got some new bottles and feeding instructions to try to
help him out - we'll see how the next week goes and check back in with
her. The good news? So far, unlike poor Jake at this age, I can
console him if I hold him. That results in not getting anything done
during the day and not the best sleep at night, but boy it makes a
huge difference for me emotionally.

4 weeks
He's smiling! I know he's gassy but these are honest-to-goodness
smiles. And they're at me! (Jake smiled at week 5 at his gym, week 7
at me)

Just Jake and I
Jake and I enjoyed the weather this weekend with a day at Vasona Park,
complete with picnic lunch. Very thankful for a whole day with Jake,
and for bottles, which made it all possible!

Three weeks old
Will and I celebrated his 3-week mark with his first walk to downtown
Willow Glen for coffee at Starbucks. When we got home I noticed our
calallilies had started to bloom.
