Pre-flight jitters

So the good thing about flying with Jake is he's old enough to have his own seat (the money bites, but really I can't wait for Will to hit two just so we legally have to get him off our laps), he can occupy himself with tv and books, and we can give him Dramamine and knock him out for a while. The bad news is the kid understands that flying isn't fun. He's been on enough flights to realize that he's trapped for hours and just doesn't feel too well for the first few days in a new timezone. The last few times we've flown he's kind of whined about a stomach ache or not wanting to get on the plane. So tonight when he kind of got in a funk about our crack-of-dawn flight to Boston tomorrow, I didn't think much of it. Until he projectile vomited all over the front porch. And me. And brought up a whopping 102 on the thermometer. He's getting some much needed rest and I was willing to dish out the $100 same-day change fee to get us on the red eye tomorrow night. Fingers crossed he can shake this in 24 hours (because I'm NOT paying $1200 in change fees to fly out later this week) and we can get to the east coast!

Thank you Auntie Kathy for all of the awesome Valentine's Day presents!! Jake went crazy over his new minster truck and Will was still breaking in his awesome first birthday present from you, and now he has even more new toys!

My little ego booster

I took this picture while driving over the Bay Bridge at sunset. I love bridges, particularly this one, and thought the sky looked amazing. I was trying to be all artistic. It's just been sitting on my phone. Tonight Jake was playing with my phone and said "Wow, this is my favorite picture, Mommy. Good job." :)

Little runner

Jake ran his first race this weekend - the Davis Stampede Kids Fun Run. And man, did he pull it off! Most of the little kids ran with a parent, but Jake told Dave he wanted to do it by himself at the starting line. He's the one in the hooded blue fleece (no, he doesn't ever take it off, even when it's 65 degrees and he's running!). He was one of the first to cross the finish line!

Best buds

One of my favorite parts about visiting Allison and Vishal is watching little Deven, 3, interact with Will. He calls him "baby Will," brings him toys, tries to pick him up, and loves stroking his hair and face. Will adores Deven and loves every second of the attention. And at just a pound apart, the whole sight of the two of them together is just undeniably adorable.
