How awesome is it that while the other little boys fought over the baseball and pirate outfits, Jake picked the flowered romper for his bear (Softy) at the build-a-bear birthday party? As I chuckled one mom tore herself away from the "I'm a better mother because my kid goes half days, not full days like yours" clique to tell me how great it was that I encouraged that behavior in him and she even brought her son to get his nails done (wow! How progressive!). I did feel a little guilty that I was chuckling and taking pictures so I could make fun of Jake when he's older, not to encourage him.
