Who has their kids' birthday party on Memorial Day? People who have really cool birthday parties - like Jake's classmates Ben and Sam. They had the coolest party at the Mountain School, an 1800's schoolhouse in the (surprise) mountains. Jake had so much fun climbing, swinging, and zip lining while I pretended I was in walnut grove!
Today kind of went like this: hearing tests are fun, vaccinations are not fun, I'm a sap and he got out of school, "broken arm" worked well enough to tackle birthday Legos, and, finally, he's a genius.
Will exceeded expectations in gymnastics class today by semi-jumping on the trampoline, contributing to circle time instead of wandering away, and attempting to stick a landing after jumping (falling) off one of the puffy blocks. So proud. Eat your heart out, Mitch Gaylord!
It's hard to see the big picture with this whole vaccination thing. Sure I'm protecting my kids from fatal diseases and all, but when it's 3 am and I can't calm my feverish 15 month old or get his swollen thigh to stop throbbing, I go all Jenny-McCarthy and start cursing vaccines (MMR in this case). After a dose of Tylenol, a bottle, and 'Goodnight Moon,' I finally got him to conk out in bed with me.
